On Nov. 1, 2012, a meeting took place
between the Friends and other interested
parties to discuss the practicalities of this
project. The idea, suggested by Alastair
Hanton of the Dulwich Society, and backed
by the Friends, is funded by Southwark
Council’s Cleaner, Greener, Safer initiative.
Present were Martin Heath (Chair of the
Friends), Andy Newman (CGS Project
Manager), Paul Highman (Dulwich area
parks manager), Prof. Isaac Marks (Dulwich
Society), Vinnie O’Connell (New Leaf) and
Heather Burrell, a local artist whose metal
work is much admired (upper left, centre).
