The colourful Great Wave mural was painted originally in 1998 for the Camberwell Art Festival by Dominic Swords, but was damaged last April by an explosion in a drugs den – to which the volcanic eruption is a reference!
Artists Morganico and Solo One worked on the project, assisted by more than fifty volunteers. Paint was donated by Dulux. On March 3, 2013, a barbecue and reception was held at the foot of the mural In Camberwell place off Coldharbour Lane.
